Packed columns are used in a wide range of industries including chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical and environmental. The main objective of the tower packing is to promote intimate, turbulent contact between two immiscible or partly immiscible fluids such as liquid/gas or liquid/liquid. These fluids pass through a packed tower, normally in counter-current flow. The requisite tower packing is selected to maximise the mass or heat transfer between the various phases in the column by providing the largest surface contact area with the minimal loss of energy.
Tower packings are available in a range of materials such as metals, plastics and ceramics depending on corrosive and temperature conditions. At Precision Tower Packing Ltd we manufacture in metals including stainless steel, nickel, titanium, aluminium, copper, hastelloy and zirconium.
We offer a wide selection of shapes and sizes of ‘random’ including our RMSR products which are equivalent to IMTP or I-Rings, as well as our Raflux or pall rings and also raschig rings.
